Different areas offer varied climates depending on the season, making the weather sometimes unpredictable. Here’s a few tips to help you stay informed and prepared for any changing forecasts.
- Check your local forecast – either online or via your local weather station – frequently to stay on top of any sudden weather changes in your area.

- Be aware of the effects of weather phenomena – tsunamis, fronts, winds, and other natural phenomena can bring large-scale weather changes, so it’s important to stay informed of any warnings that come your way.
Equally important is knowing what activities to do and what clothing to bring in each season. Whether it’s playing beach volleyball at the start of summer or donning a scarf at the start of autumn, seasonal activities and gear can help you make the most out of any season.
- Search for seasonal offerings – find out what fun activities are available in your area, such as ice skating in the winter or hot air balloon rides in the summer.
- Check for any clothing restrictions – some activities, like traditional Japanese teahouses, have a dress code which may require extra preparation on your part. So check for any seasonal restrictions before you go.
- Be prepared for the cold – winters can be brutal, especially in places like the Upper Midwest. Check forecasts as well as any snowfall regulation policies in the region, and come prepared with warm clothing.
